How to use E-sys Interface to Start-and-Stop Coding in BMW F25

Here are tips/ intructions of coding auto start-and-stop for BMW F25 with ENET cable and E-sys interface.
Automobile Diagnostic Tools became more and more improtant in auto field
But how much is it and how about guality?
Purpose:
To code the ASS to off as default with esys…

Model:
BMW x3 f25

Tool suggestion:
– Best is to have psdz data that corresponds to the i-level of your car.
– Technically, you can use any version of E-Sys with any version of PSdZData, so long as that version of E-Sys is Patched, and has a .EST Token with current Validity. The issue is that BMW made changes to the PSdZData beginning with 48.2 for F20 / F30, and then in 48.3 for all other chassis, that required an updated Patch / Token, which rendered the E-Sys 3.22.5version most everyone was using, aka “the free version”, needing a new Patch / Token, and continue to use the newest PSdZData.

Instruction:
Add “OMSA” to FA (in Ho-wort folder), write FA to car (not forget about backup partner) and code CAS.

E-Sys read I-Level steps:
E Sys Read

I-Step current is what you have.
In most events, just use the PSdZData 49.4, and you will be fine.
If you do not want to modify VO by adding the HO-Wort, you can FDL Code one of these in CAS module depending on your preference:
TC_MSA_DEFAULT_OFF = aktiv (Turn Auto Start/Stop OFF by default)
TC_MSA_MEMORY = aktiv (Sets car’s Auto Start/Stop function to start in the last used setting (e.g. Off) when the engine is started)

What is VAG-COM

VCDS (an abbreviation for "VAG-COM Diagnostic System" and formerly known as VAG-COM[2][4]) is a Microsoft Windows-based software package,[4] developed and produced by Ross-Tech, LLC since May 2000.[1] It is primarily used for diagnostics and adjustments of Volkswagen Group motor vehicles, including Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, and Škoda automobiles,[5]along with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The name "VAG-COM" derives from the acronym for Volkswagen AG (VAG), the former name of the Volkswagen Group.
VCDS will perform most of the functions of the expensive electronic diagnostic tools available only to official dealers, like the current VAS 505x series diagnostic tools.[4][6] In the past, these dealership-only tools have prevented owners, and many small independent repair shops from performing some fundamental tasks, such as diagnosing problems, diesel ignition timing, modification of convenience options such as automatic door unlocking, coding a replacement electronic control unit (ECU) or key to the vehicle, and monitoring of many vehicle sensors for diagnosing problems.[6] Unlike generic on-board diagnostics (OBD-II or EOBD), VCDS uses the more in-depth Volkswagen Group-specific manufacturer protocol commands,[5] which allows the user to access all diagnostic capable vehicle systems — even in vehicles which are not covered by generic OBD-II/EOBD (e.g. pre-1996). In general, there are two ways to use this software, either as a package (software and hardware) distributed by the manufacturer or their agents, or, by building your own interface hardware and using it with the publicly available but limited shareware version of the software.
VCDS is also capable of interfacing vehicles which use the generic OBD-II/EOBD protocols. However, the OBD-II and EOBD standards only allow for limited diagnostics, and no adjustments to any of the ECUs.

Xtool VAG401 – VCDS VAGCOM alternative for VAG diagnostics

OBDII Fault Code Scanners - became more and more improtant in Vehicle field
But where can i find a beeter one for my car?
VAG401 for VW/AUDI/SEAT/SKODA Professional tool
Car Owner VCDS VAGCOM (clone) cable would not work recently and I could not find a place to buy a new cheap one. Anyway, I love VCDS, but I wanted a computer independent scan tool that would not require me to drag out my laptop. Then I bought an Xtool VAG401 scanner, an original plug and play device.
Xtool did it for me. I bought it to see if by chance it read dsg temps. Indeed, it does! It also allows you to prime your fuel filter on MKV+ engines. I also use it to:
1) Scan VW specific codes along with OBD codes
2) Show specific measuring blocks including DSG Temperature
3) Activate the fuel pump
The scan result:
DSG temp no problem
fuel filter prime no problem
Measuring blocks for RCV no problem
Cycling climatronoc actuators no problem
The VAG401 scan tool uses the same codes as VCDS or the factory tools use, common for the whole family of Audi, VW, Skoda, and SEAT. You need to make sure to use the particular procedure for your car year and model. Even with VCDS you need this info. There are also some Youtube videos on a whole lot of procedures using VCDS, and the VAG401 follows the same basic procedures, although the screens look different. I would read the VCDS manual on the Ross-Tech website, and it will give you a lot of information on how VCDS or the VAG401 can be used. But even the VCDS manual doesn’t give you particular car procedures. For those, you can check the Rpss-Tech wiki, do a search in these forums, Youtube, or use a shop manual. I use all of them when tackling a job I haven’t done before.
I have been using it for about 8000 miles on my car. Support and updates are marginal. For about 100 bucks including shipping, I think it is a great thing to throw in your tool box when you do not want to break out your laptop.
