setup Honda HDS on Multi-diag J2534

It is possible to configure Honda HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) software to work with China clone ACTIA II 2013 multi-diag J2534 pass thru interface? Yes, our customer has tested it work.

How to use Actia Multi-diag J2534 PassThru XS device with Xhorse MVCI Honda HDSsoftware?

You’d better installing HDS on Win XP!!!

1. Install MVCI HDS software v2.21 or newer
2. Double click on Honda HDS PassThru.reg, agree to add data to registry.
3. Install PassThru drivers with default parameters (latest version available from http://www.passthruxs.com/download.htm , named API Passthru+ XS for Workshop)
4. Run HDS software, go to configuration page, for Comms Interface select SPX-MVCI:

5. Done.

NOTE:

Our customer has tested the II-2013 Multidiag J2534 on HDS, have not tried other versions (I-2014, 2013V etc). If you failed to configure 2013.02V, you can try others version around.

If you cannot find the Honda HDS pass thru.reg during install of the HDS or after installation, only MVCI discovery wireless, mvci update, mvci registry which display MVCI USB IP address, MVCI Ethernet IP address and MVCI wireless IP address. Here is the solution:

Solution:

Run Honda HDS software, click on F12 on the top screen and click on button “Select a new device” , you will hear “CLICK” relay in connected ACTIA PassThru device. Look for Comm Interface click on the arrow. You should see your Actia multi diag and if not you have to get your driver fix.

BWM ICOM A2 comes with Network cable, can do Fiber optical programming, but ICOM A3 does not contain Network cable, can not do Fiber optical programming.

ICOM A: support Win XP O/S only.

ICOM A1: Win XP and Win 7 64 bit O/S

ICOM A2: Win XP and Win 7 O/S

ICOM A3: Professional Win7 64 bit (NO Win XP)

JLR Mangoose Toyota Techstream unable to connect to VIM

JLR mangoose Volvo, VIDA, TOYOTA TIS 3–in–1 scanner “registration Techstream software” and “unable to connect to VIM” errors (fixed).

One of the JLR mangoose 3 in 1 J2534 pass-thru interface users tried to program a new key with mangoose Techstream software (V9.10.037), but the two errors occurred during the procedure.

First the software asked to enter the new key to complete Techstream software registration procedure.

Then the software reports an error after click on Cancel button.

Error:

Unable to connect to VIM

Possible reason:

1)      Did not activate the Techstream software

2)      Did not connect the JLR mangoose 3-in-1 cable with vehicle

Solution:

1)      First of all, the Toyota Techstream registration error:

Make sure you have installed Techstream software on Win XP operating system.

Please activate the JLR mangoose Techstream software first

Open the software file and refer to the readme.txt file, follow the text instructions

Where the “file j2534 mangoose pro” located?

You do not need to find the file, just

Go to

C:Program FilesToyota DiagnosticsTechstreamEnvIT3System.ini

Change

TISFunction=1 to TISFunction=0

Save

2) Second, the unable to connect VIM problem solution

JLR mangoose cable must be connected with vehicle after activate the Techstream software, so the computer will detect the driver.

How to disable DRLs with Bluetooth ELM327 OBD2 scan tool

1)    Download Carista OBD2 APP on your phone or tablet.

2)    Plug the Bluetooth ELM327 adapter into the vehicle OBD port.
3)    Turn the vehicle ignition to ON position without the engine OFF
4)    Open the software and select “CUSTOMIZE” function on the main menu. If it is the first time you use the device, you have to pair with the Bluetooth VIN using 1234 or 0000 to confirm.

5) The program will display some function option list. Select “Lights”

6) You will be shown the current daytime running lights status–ON. Double click the “Daytime Running Lights” icon

7) Tick “OFF” and save settings.

8) The program will pops out a message ask for Carista OBD2 app payment. Click “BUY” to pay for the app. If this is the first time you’re changing a setting, the app will launch the Google Play in-app billing screens and will guide you to purchasing the Pro Package (which is required for changing settings; it’s a one-time purchase and then you can change as many settings as you like, as many times as you like). The Pro Package also gives you access to advanced diagnostics of all Toyota/Lexus ECUs, not just OBD2 stuff.

9) After pay for the app, the system is saving previous settings. You are able to do some further settings. Otherwise, exit the program.
